Annual Available Placements: 2 students for 2 semesters or equivalent.

Located in the historic home city of Jeanne d'Arc and one of Europe's oldest universities, Université d'Orléans (UO) was founded in 1306 and boasts such notable alumni as Pope Clement V, Jean Calvin and Moliere. The university has occupied its current location since 1961 and is located near local centers of three of France's prestigious research institutes: the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the French Geological Survey (BRGM), and the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA). Each year, the university welcomes 14,000 students, including 2,000 international students.

The exchange is intended for students of French or those who have sufficient profiencecy to take regular classes in French. Students intending to study French language through UO's Institut de Français must demonstrate at the time of application the equivalent profiencecy of A1 level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) for a fall start and CEFR A2 for a spring start. Students intending to take regular classes must demonstrate profiencecy equivalent to CEFR B2.
