![]() |
Program Type: Exchange
Annual Available Placements: 2 students for 2 semesters or equivalent.
Rikkyo University began in 1874 as a small missionary school in the Tsukiji distict of Tokyo before becoming a university in 1907 and moving in 1918 to the Ikebukuro district, which it still calls home today. Across all of its campuses, Rikkyo has nearly 20,000 students, of whom almost 1,000 are degree-seeking and non-degree seeking international students.
CWU students will study at Rikkyo through its College of Intercultural Communication, which offers the majority of its classes in English and facilitates Japanese language study in Rikkyo's Center for Japanese Language Education. Students will have more limited ability to take classes in the university's other academic units.
