Annual Available Placements: 1 student for 2 semesters or equivalent.

Located in the Musashino district of Tokyo, Asia University (AU) was founded in 1941 as Koa Senmon Gakko (Koa Professional School) and underwent several changes before receiving its current name in 1955. The university currently boasts four faculties (colleges): Faculty of Business Administration, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Law, and the Faculty of International Relations, as well as a number of graduate programs and a junior college. International education is a large part of Asia University's identity, with study abroad mandated for all students studying International Relations. The university also hosts international students from all over the world each year.

The exchange with AU is for students of Japanese language who have achieved proficiency equivalent to an N4 level on the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) at the time of application. Students may study for either one or two AU semesters, but must start in April with the beginning of the Japanese academic year. One full-year placement (or equivalent) is available each year.
