First opening in 1964 as Napier Technical College, Edinburgh Napier University now is one of the largest higher education institutions in Scotland with almost 19,500 students from 140 countries across its three campuses (Merchiston, Craiglockhart and Sighthill) in Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh. The University takes its name from 16th-century mathematician John Napier, inventor of logarithms, who was born in 1550 the towerhouse of Merchiston Castle. The towerhouse now survives as Merchiston Tower, around which Edinburgh Napier's Merchiston Campus is centered.

With around 4,000 students from outside the UK, Napier is a truly international University offering an excellent range of courses designed to give you the global perspective required for today's worldwide marketplace.

Napier has excellent Computer Science, Cybersecurity and Music programs, all based on the Merchiston campus. Its business school, based at the Craiglockart campus, is newly AACSB-accredited, making Napier one of only three CWU partners with such accreditation. The Sighthill campus is home to Napier's Exercise Science and Psychology programs.
