A Message from the President

Since joining the Central Washington University community, I have been impressed with the deep care that our community shows to our students and to each other. That care is demonstrated in our new vision statement: that we will be a model learning community of equity and belonging. The new vision and the university-wide engagement with developing a strategic plan demonstrates our collective commitment to embracing bold change.

I would like to thank our faculty, staff, and students who have contributed to the ongoing process of understanding who CWU is and who we hope to become as an organization. As we strive to be a model learning community of equity and belonging, I believe we will continue to learn and grow, which will benefit the university and the broader community. Together, we can live into a brighter future for all residents of the Kittitas Valley.

Let’s celebrate how far we have come as we renew our pursuit of this imperative transformation. I look forward to continuing this inspiring, rewarding journey with all of you.

With gratitude,

 President Wohlpart's Signature

A. James Wohlpart
