Letter from the CWU Alumni Association October 2022

Happy fall, Wildcats!

In addition to Homecoming right around the corner, we are happy to be bringing you another CWU AlumNight. Join the Wildcat Nation in Pierce County on Thursday, October 20, at the 7 Seas Brewery and Taproom in Tacoma! While there, enjoy an inspiring presentation by Dr. David Schwan of CWU’s EthicsLab on Three Visions of the Good Life as well as great food, drinks, and networking with other CWU alumni.

Next up we are heading to Texas with the CWU football team! Hang out with alumni staff and fellow Wildcats in Austin the evening of Thursday, November 3, at the Parlor Room and enjoy the first round of drinks on us! On Saturday, November 5, join the Dallas-Fort Worth area Wildcats at an alumni breakfast with CWU alumni and former NFL quarterback Jon Kitna! Join this Wildcat breakfast and send off at the Reata Dome Restaurant before heading to the game. Reserve your spot today to join us for a fun alumni reunion and meal, then help us send off those going to the CWU vs. Angelo State football game.

Next week it is time for our alumni to make their way back to the burg for Homecoming! Kicking us off on Friday, October 14, is one of CWU’s favorite traditions, Wellington’s Wildfire! Join fellow alumni and current students from 8-10:00 p.m. in the east lawn of McIntyre Hall where 88.1 The ’Burg will be playing music and Wildcats will gather around a campfire for a special alumni fire lighting ceremony to launch Homecoming weekend!

On Saturday, October 15, we are starting the day off with an Alumni Reunion Luncheon and All-Members Meeting at 12:00 p.m. After lunch, enjoy campus and get your gameday gear at the Wildcat Shop before the Wildcat tailgate at 3:00 p.m. in the parking lot outside of the Wade Gate at Tomlinson Stadium. At 5:00 p.m. the CWU band will lead a pre-game rally to bring us into the stadium before kickoff! The football game will start at 6:00 p.m., and we hope you will join us in the Alumni Plaza to cheer on our Wildcats! Purchase tickets to the Alumni Reunion Luncheon or the Homecoming football game by visiting our upcoming events page.

The CWU Alumni Association is partnering with Presidents United to Solve Hunger (PUSH) and we are seeking your help to help provide food to CWU students who face food insecurity. Bring non-expired, non-perishable food items to the pre-game tailgate, pep rally, or to into the Alumni Plaza at the football game to help support students in need.

We hope to see you at the remaining home football game this year, including the game this Saturday, October 8! We are hosting pre-game tailgates and rallies before every home game this season, and everyone is welcome to join! RV parking and reserved seating in the Alumni Plaza is still available for every home game besides Homecoming (October 14). Please call Shelley Bush at 509-963-2552 to reserve your RV or home football seating spots!

We look forward to you returning to your Wildcat home and can’t wait to see you! Go Cats!
