Letter from the CWU Alumni Association February 2022

Happy February, Wildcats!

The first month of the year flew by, but during that time we were thrilled to connect with so many Wildcats! We want to thank everybody who joined us for the release of the Bale Breaker AlumnIPA in Yakima and Seattle. We hope you enjoyed the tasting of this alumni-crafted beverage, and we look forward to seeing you at more events in the near future.

As we look to this spring, mark your calendar for the Distinguished Alumni Awards, taking place on Friday, May 13. This year the event will be at the Alumni Plaza in Tomlinson Stadium with music, appetizers, beverages, and Distinguished Alumni Awards ceremony. We are still calling for nominations for 4 Under 40, Distinguished Alumni, or Legacy Awards, so submit a nomination for the Wildcats you know who have made an impact on their industries, communities, alma mater, and others lives around the world.

If you are interested in getting more involved in planning alumni events in your area, consider being one of our Regional Alumni Leaders! We are looking for volunteer leaders to grow the Wildcat Nation in regional hubs around the state in this coming year, starting with Yakima and King Counties. The Wildcat Nation is expanding, and your leadership will help this growth continue. Keep an eye on your email for leader invitations in your region. If you are interested or would like to learn more, please contact Director of Alumni and Constituent Relations Casey Ross at casey.ross@cwu.edu.

If you haven’t joined us for home basketball hospitality this season, we still have several games coming up! All current CWU Alumni Association and Wildcat Athletic Association members have access to the hospitality area upstairs in Nicholson Pavilion to enjoy food and beverages between the men’s and women’s games, and again during halftime of men’s games. Make sure your alumni membership is current, or donate to the Wildcat Athletic Association so that you and one guest can join us.

This April it is time for Wildcats to take over T-Mobile Park at CWU Night with the Mariners! Grab your friends and join us as the Mariners take on the Royals on April 22, with pre-game festivities including games, music from 88.1 the ‘Burg, and pictures with Wellington. Purchase your tickets through this special ticket link, which also includes the opportunity to get a Mariners and CWU co-branded hat, while supplies last. We hope to see you there!

We look forward to continuing to grow our Wildcat Nation and look forward to connecting with many of you back in Ellensburg, or at the various events and programs we have happening across the state in the coming months. Go Cats!
