Letter from the CWU Alumni Association January 2023

Happy New Year, Wildcats!

We have our 2023 date for the most popular alumni event of the year! Save-the-Date for CWU Night with the Mariners on April 21! This year when you purchase a CWU ticket through our special link you will receive a CWU/Mariners co-branded jersey as the giveaway item! More information, including a link to buy tickets, will be coming soon, but for now be sure to mark your calendar to spend the day at T-Mobile Park with the Wildcat Nation!

Join us this evening (January 5, 2023) and Saturday (January 7, 2023) at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake for men’s and women’s “home” basketball games while Nicholson Pavilion is being renovated. Children can attend the games for free and the first 500 adults can enter promo code ‘CWUALUM23’ and get tickets for $5 today! See tipoff times and the teams they will be playing by visiting the Upcoming Events page.

We have two more CWU AlumNights planned for you! For our Yakima region, join us at Valley Brewing Co. on January 19, and hear from the CWU EthicsLab and Dr. David Schwan as they discuss “What Makes a Good Thinker? Virtues of Thought.” Pierce County will follow with a winter quarter AlumNight on February 3, at 7 Seas Brewery and Taproom in Tacoma. There will be door prizes, food, drinks, networking, and a fun and interesting demonstration on beer tasting and sensory analysis from your CWU Craft Brewing team. Learn more on the Upcoming Events page.

We are always seeking support for CWU students who are facing financial challenges as they look to complete their education and join our alumni family, and we deeply appreciate those of you who already give to support students in need. The CWU Alumni Association has several funds that range from providing a cap and gown to those who can’t afford to participate in commencement to providing financial support for incoming first-year students whose parent, stepparent, or grandparent is a CWU alumnus and who have demonstrated financial need. Make a gift to the fund of your choosing by visiting our scholarship page.

We hope you have already had a great start to 2023 and look forward to seeing you this year! Go Cats!
