Letter from the CWU Alumni Association June 2022

Looking back to last month, we want to thank everybody who joined us on campus for the Distinguished Alumni Award ceremony where we honored 11 outstanding Wildcats who embrace CWU’s spirit and mission. If you missed the ceremony, you can learn more about this year’s awardees in our press release, and you can view photos of the event by visiting our Facebook page.

Somehow it is already June, and that means it is time for another class of Wildcats to join the alumni family! With the Kent commencement ceremony last weekend and the Ellensburg ceremonies this weekend, we want to be among the first to congratulate the class of 2022 on this milestone accomplishment.

We know that this class of Wildcats will set out to do incredible things, and we would love to help them stay in touch with their alma mater. To help graduates stay connected with the Wildcat family, we are currently offering annual CWU Alumni Association memberships to new graduates at a discounted rate. Lifetime memberships are half off and include a $50 Wildcat Shop gift card. Purchase one for yourself or as a graduation gift to the graduating Wildcats in your life before this offer expires on July 31.

If you are looking for a way to give back to help future CWU students and graduates, consider donating to one of our CWU Alumni Scholarships. Among the scholarship funds is the Cap and Gown Fund which raises support for graduates that may not otherwise be able to afford their cap and gown. This fund also provides each recipient with an annual membership to the alumni association. Just this year we provided 71 graduates with funds to get their cap and gown and participate in commencement. Thank you in advance for your generosity and for always supporting the Wildcat family!

The Wildcat Nation is getting together for a Yakima Valley Pippins game this summer! Join us on July 8 as the Pippins take on the Ridgefield Raptors in the Yakima Valley. While at the game, pick up your free, co-branded CWU Pippins bag, while supplies last. Get your tickets today. We hope to see you there!

Looking towards the fall, we hope you will mark your calendar and join us back on campus during Homecoming week! The football game is scheduled for October 15, and we hope you will join us downtown the night before for our Alumni After Hours event. We look forward to seeing you and bringing the Wildcat Nation back together in the ‘Burg!

With this being the last newsletter until September, we look forward to keeping you up to date on alumni happenings with upcoming event emails. We hope to see you this summer!

Go Cats!
