The Exploratory and STAR Academic Advising unit strives to promote academic success by delivering student-centered best practices in academic advising. We aspire to be an exemplary academic advising program for the university, state, and region.
The mission of the Exploratory and STAR Academic Advising unit is to empower students to reach their academic, professional, and personal goals. Through a collaborative relationship, advisors will support students as they explore, reflect, and build connections at CWU.
Our Commitment to Equity
We strive to model and promote equity in our work with students and the university community by continuing to be culturally conscious. We believe it is vital to approach each person uniquely by seeking to understand their intersecting identities and how their experiences influence who they are as individuals. It is our hope that through this understanding, our students feel empowered to gain autonomy in their academics and define their own success. Our actions need to be culturally responsive, building beyond our own experiences to create opportunities for all to thrive.
