    Winter 2025 Update:

Inspire is working to create a new option to “close” an academic alert in addition to the existing option to “resolve” an academic alert. This will allow all those involved in responding to academic alerts to communicate outcomes more clearly.
Inspire has made an update to include the "resolution comment" in the the email notification sent to facutly/instructors once an alert is "closed/resolved". Hence, faculty don't have to go to Inspire "Course Alerts" to view the resolution comment on the alerts submitted.

    Fall 2024 Update:
As per the Provost's retentive initiative, our university is undertaking an important campus-wide initiative aimed at increasing student retention. The goal of the project is to increase Fall-to-Winter retention to 95%. The university-wide initiative will involve all divisions and units.
As part of this effort, faculty members are requested to take two key actions:

Mandatory Attendance for 100 and 200-level courses
    Early Identification of At-Risk Students
The Office of Undergraduate Studies is leading the "Academic Alert Project" and has organized a special team (Academic Success Coach) to perform the outreach to students who receive an alert in 100 and 200 level course. The timeline for the team to resolve and update the alerts is 2-weeks from the date of submission of the alert.

All alerts submitted on Inspire will be assigned to the Academic Advisors, but the Academic Alert team will work along side the advisors and reach out to the students in 100 and 200 level courses (FTIC/freshman population). Advisors are soley responsible for reaching out to students in 300 and 400 level classes.

The Alerts submitted on Inspire and the comments made on the alert on Inspire are backed up into MyCWU (PeopleSoft) daily. Hence, faculty can check the resolution comment on an alert in MyCWU under student's "Advising Note".
