Summer Field Programs


CRM Archaeology Summer Field School

Learn about cultural resource management (CRM) and archaeological and GPR fieldwork. Participate in CRM projects in central Washington State. This in-person field program runs three weeks for 6 credits (quarter system). Meetings are in Ellensburg, and leaving from campus to the field on weekdays, typically 8 AM-5 PM daily. The 2026 dates are June 22-July 10. See the documents below for more details and an application to complete and email to the instructor Dr. Karisa Terry.

Forensic Anthropology Summer Field School:

Record and excavate a mock crime scene. Analyze skeletal remains in a laboratory setting. This field program runs three weeks on the Ellensburg campus, for 6 credits (quarter system). The 2026 dates are July 13-31, M-F, 9 AM- 5 PM. See the documents below for more details and an application to complete and email to the instructor Dr. Nicole Jastremski.

Other Summer Courses Online:
In addition to the field courses above, we offer introductory and upper-division courses fully online each summer. These may allow you to complete most of an anthropology minor 100% online over two summers. The following will be offered asynchronous online in Summer 2026:
