Out of State Career and Technical Education Disclosure

Central Washington University makes every effort to determine whether or not programs resulting in professional licensure or certification are recognized outside of Washington State.

Students are also encouraged to be proactive, as certification and licensure requirements vary by state and over time, and licensing board and contact information are provided on the primary licensure disclosure webpage.

The table below collects programs identified by CWU as leading to or endorsing career and technical education licensure which may be considered for out-of-state recognition:

Authorization Disclosure

Central Washington University's CTE Certification program provides endorsement in a number of areas across 6000 hours of occupational experience, which may result in conditional approval for many states and territories per the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC) Interstate Agreement webpage and disclosure.

Incoming out-of-state students should also note that the Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) has determined that, as of September 2023, only a Wisconsin Masters Educator License or an Ohio Professional Teaching License meets the requirements for direct application to Washington's Professional Teacher certification.

In nearly all cases, students are required to contact their local state's department of education or CTE authority to receive recognition and affirm practice.
