Current teachers and industry professionals can combine their occupational experience with our teacher preparation program to apply for their initial CTE Teaching Certificate or add on to their current residency certificate.
If you are interested in teaching your specialty area of CTE in an educational setting, our Business and Industry Route Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher Preparation certification program will provide the tools necessary for success in the classroom including curriculum development and execution, creating inclusive classroom environments, and practicum experience.

Our program features an online and individually paced format with the option to start coursework at any time, allowing you maximum flexibility.
Experiential Learning
You’ll participate in two, 60-hour practicum courses with a CTE certified mentor and school of your choosing.

Our department is currently developing neurodivergent affirming coursework to ensure special populations can benefit from our future teachers.
