Priority Selection FAQ
Here are some common questions during Priority Selection:
- I currently live in the on-campus apartments, but I want to change rooms/units/complexes. What do I do?
First, reserve your same room/unit to ensure you have a place to stay. Starting on Feb. 3, 2026, you can log back into the MyHousing portal to attempt to select a new room or fill out a new application for another apartment complex. If you live in Brooklane Village or Getz-Short Apartments and you want to move to a different size unit in your complex, visit the MyHousing portal starting Feb. 3, 2026, and put yourself on a waitlist for the unit size you want. - I currently live in the residence halls, but I would like to move to a one-bedroom apartment, if it's available. What should I do?
To move to on-campus apartments, you will need to wait until Feb. 3, 2026, and fill out an apartment application for the complex you wish to be in. In the event that you would choose a residence hall room again if a one-bedroom apartment is not available, you should select a residence hall room during Priority Selection and then fill out an apartment application on Feb. 3. If you have a residence hall room reserved, we can cancel it for you should you get the apartment you want. - If I fill out a Priority Selection application for an upperclass residence hall room and then my plans change, what happens?
If you cancel your residence hall room reservation by June 1, you will be charged a $50 cancellation fee. Keep in mind that rooms reserved during Priority Selection waive the $200 deposit, but rooms reserved starting Feb. 3, 2026, will have to pay a $200 deposit.
