Family and Consumer Sciences
Welcome to the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences
The Family Consumer Sciences department offers a wide variety of disciplines across five main areas: Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising, Career and Technical Education, Child Development and Family Science, Hospitality, Tourism, and Event Management, and Wine Studies.
In every area, you’ll apply the sciences that explore how humans interact with their environment—whether as consumers or family members. You’ll gain the knowledge and skills needed for a successful career in dynamic industries, excel as a professional in education, and support child and family well-being in community, government, and medical settings.
