  • Lock/Unlock of Academic Buildings

CWU employees (faculty, staff, and exempt) should refer to Lock/Unlock of Academic Buildings (PDF) for procedures.

  • Annual Key Audit

For campus security, a Key Audit is completed yearly for all Faculty and Staff. Individuals that do not appear on this audit include: students, graduate assistants, and temporary employees. Also keys issued quarterly (like classroom keys) and keys issued to a departmental key box are not included on this Audit.

  • Lockout Procedures for Students

Students who lock themselves out of their rooms should attempt to contact their roommate(s) first. If the roommate is unavailable, contact hall staff to have another key temporarily issued. If hall staff are unavailable between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., contact the Residence Life Office at (509) 963-1323. After 7:00 p.m. and on weekends, contact the RA on call. Upon request, produce identification to verify occupancy. If a resident locks themselves out two or more times per quarter, there may be a referral to Student Rights and Responsibilities, fees, and termination of the Housing and Dining contract.
