Biology Related Scholarships and Research Funding Opportunities

Top Reasons To Apply

1. Scholarships work differently than other funding that might comprise your financial aid package.  These are not student loans. Unlike loans, you do not have to pay back a scholarship. For any scholarship, you'll need to inform Central's Office of Financial Aid of your award, as they are considered (along with other awards and student loans) as part of your yearly financial aid package. Ask the Office of Financial Aid how scholarships affect your financial aid package. In many cases, scholarships replace the equivalent amount in student loans you would otherwise have to pay back.

2. You have a great shot of getting a biology-related scholarship!  Don't take yourself out of the running by not even applying.  Many people doubt they have a chance, but there are lots of factors that are considered by scholarship and research funding committees when selecting awardees. You owe it to yourself to try for them!

3. Scholarships are worth the minutes they take to apply!  Members of the Biology Department would love to see you receive funding.  We are happy to help guide you to resources and help point you to answers for questions you may have about your application to Scholarship Central and other internal and external opportunities for funding.  Just ask us!
