What are eSports?

Taking competitive gaming to a whole new level.

eSports, or electronic sports, are organized, competitive video gaming events where players and teams compete against each other in various games. These events are often structured similarly to traditional sports competitions, with leagues, tournaments, and championships. eSports have gained immense popularity globally, bridging the gap between sports and gaming by bringing the competitive spirit and community aspects of traditional sports into the digital realm.

At Central Washington University, eSports have become an exciting part of campus life, with numerous events and tournaments held in the past. These events have featured a diverse range of games, including Rocket League, where teams strategize and compete in vehicular soccer; Super Smash Bros, a beloved fighting game with a wide roster of characters; and various first-person shooters that test players' reflexes and tactical skills. These events have not only provided entertainment and engagement for participants and spectators but also fostered a strong sense of community among students with a shared passion for gaming.
