Sport Law Specialization
In partnership with the CWU Department of Law and Justice, we are excited to offer the specialization in Sport Law, one of six options for completing requirements for the Sport Management major. Please see the course catalog for specific Sport Law specialization degree requirements and course listings. Also, if you are interested, be sure to check out the opportunities offered by the Department of Law and Justice.
Students who choose to specialize in Sports Law typically enter the sport industry in positions within sport organizations in contracts, compliance, legal affairs, and regulatory compliance. They may work closely with sports lawyers, sport agents and other professionals to ensure that the organization adheres to relevant laws and regulations. Additionally, those with a specialization in sport law may find opportunities with sport governing bodies, players associations or as independent consultants providing legal expertise to athletes and sports organizations. This specialization equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complex legal landscape of the sports industry.
