Curriculum and Instruction, MEd
CWU’s Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum & Instruction is an online graduate program for educators intending to advance their professional practice.
Key features of the M.Ed. program include:
- Choice: Working with a faculty advisor, every M.Ed. student undertakes an individualized course of study that includes an "area of emphasis," which culminates in a meaningful Master's project or thesis.
- Flexibility: M.Ed. students progress through the program at a pace that meets their needs.
- Value: Earn your Master's degree from a quality program while at affordable tuition.
Design a Program that Meets Your Needs
The M.Ed. program is 48 credits. Within the program, M.Ed. students select 29 credits in an area of emphasis to meet their professional goals. Plus, many areas of emphasis, with advising, may lead to WA State teaching endorsements (noted with * below). In other words, you can earn your Master's degree and an endorsement. Here are potential areas of emphasis:
- Accessibility Studies
- Bilingual Education*
- Library Media*
- Family & Consumer Science
- STEM Leadership
- Special Education*
- Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)*
- Literacy/Reading*
- Design Your Own
Take the Next Step
The Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction accepts applications quarterly. Applicants must hold a valid teaching certificate or be pursuing a certificate (in which applicants may be conditionally accepted). Also, we are waiving the requirement of the one-year teaching experience. For application form and supplemental application requirements, visit the CWU School of Graduate Studies and Research.
Please note: This program does not lead to teacher certification for non-teachers. Our Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Program does.
