Equipment Checkout
Location: Equipment Checkout Desk located in Samuelson Hall Lobby

The MEC equipment checkout desk offers a diverse lineup of multimedia equipment ranging from personal use MacBooks and PC Laptops to GoPros and professional level Canon DSLRs. Equipment checkout is free to all members of the CWU community with a current CWU Connection Card. Equipment can be reserved for pick up on a certain date by calling, emailing or visiting our equipment checkout desk.
Equipment checkout is free to all members of the CWU community with a current CWU Connection Card. Please read our equipment checkout policy as you will be held accountable to it, including any fines, fees or replacement costs incurred as a result of your loan.
We will not be handling any long-term loans for students, faculty or staff. All equipment is due after 7 days.
- 7 days per checkout -Please read our equipment checkout policy to avoid any fines and/or late fees.
- Equipment cannot be renewed. Equipment must be returned in-person with all of its components. A late fee charge of $45 per day will apply to any equipment not returned after the seventh day. If, after the equipment has been returned and there are no reservations or any other reason we must keep the equipment, you may re-check it out at that time. Additionally, users assume responsibility for any damaged, stolen, or missing equipment, and will be charged replacement fees.
- Equipment can be reserved ahead of time. Reservations are filled on a first come, first served basis and are subject to equipment availability. Indicating a needed-by date does not guarantee that the equipment will be available at that time.
- If returned late, request for the fine to be appealed. For specific instances where returning equipment on time was beyond your control you can request the fine to be removed from your account. The MEC adheres to a strict late fee policy and maintains the discretion to refuse any appeal lacking adequate justification.

*Note: Software installed on laptops are standard across campus. We cannot install software or allow patrons to install software due to security concerns. If sufficient number of patrons require addtional software, we can put in a request to ITS to add it to our standard package, but we cannot guarentee it will be fulfilled.
