Civil Rights Compliance
Title IX and Pregnancy or Related Conditions
CWU is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive environment for all members of our community.
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs and activities and in employment, including pregnancy, as well as childbirth and pregnancy-related conditions.
The Title IX Coordinator at CWU is responsible for overseeing the University’s compliance with the federal laws addressing discrimination on the basis of sex, including pregnancy or pregnancy-related conditions. Therefore, Civil Rights Compliance (CRC) can assist CWU students and employees who:
- May need or be interested in supportive measures (or temporary disability accommodations) related to pregnancy or related conditions; and/or
- Believe they have been discriminated against based on pregnancy or a related condition.
Reporting Pregnancy Discrimination
Use the Concern and Support (reporting) form to report pregnancy discrimination (a type of sex discrimination) to the Title IX Coordinator.
Concern and Support FormStudent and Employee Supportive Measures
Central Washington University (CWU) students or employees may be entitled to support, protections, and/or accommodations based on pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy, or recovery from any of these conditions under Title IX and other federal and state laws.
