Editorial Guidelines

"The CWU editorial style guide is intended to enhance readability, provide consistency, and establish a high standard of communications. It is based on the Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS) for official university content, including the course catalog, brochures, posters, websites, postcards, newsletters, and other publications, printed and digital. Both an Editorial Style Guide (docx) and Stylebook (docx) are available.

Equal Opportunity Statements (updated 8/22/22)

When possible, one of the following statements should be included on CWU communication and marketing material. Use the general notice for things like program and event flyers, brochures, magazines, rack cards, and banners. For employment-related communications, such as advertisements for open positions, use the employer-specific notice. It is not necessary to place the notice on small promotional items, such as pens, or graphics designed for and published on social media.
