CWU Collegiate Recovery Community

Recovery for Wildcats

CWU's Collegiate Recovery Community is a place to gather and feel supported. Anyone impacted by substance misuse or addiction is invited. Hosted in the Office of Health Promotion, the community engages in recovery friendly events, peer support groups, individual supportive consultation, and so much more!

Central Washington University is a proud member of the 2026 Washington State Collegiate Recovery Support Initiative! Through this initiative, we outfitted a Student Wellbeing and Recovery Lounge, hired 5 total Peer Recovery Coaches, put on 5 signature events, and distributed Collegiate Recovery Community Scholarships to 26 students.

The CWU Collegiate Recovery Community provides a welcoming space for connection, support, and growth. Many students are personally impacted by substance use, addiction, or recovery—whether their own or someone close to them—and building community as a Wildcat in recovery can sometimes feel challenging. Our program offers a safe, inclusive space for individuals with shared experiences through events, support groups, individual consultations, and peer recovery support. Students may gather in our recovery lounge, participate in programming, or apply for recovery-based scholarships.

Donations to this project directly support our endowed scholarship fund for the Collegiate Recovery Community. Eligible students may receive scholarships of up to $500, helping them continue their academic journey while building healthy, meaningful futures.

You can find out more about how you can support and donate to this fund by visiting the Give Central website.
