CWU Collegiate Recovery Community
CWU Collegiate Recovery Community
Recovery for Wildcats
CWU's Collegiate Recovery Community is a place to gather and feel supported. Anyone impacted by substance misuse or addiction is invited. Hosted in the Office of Health Promotion, the community engages in recovery friendly events, peer support groups, individual supportive consultation, and so much more!
Central Washington University is a proud member of the 2026 Washington State Collegiate Recovery Support Initiative! Through this initiative, we outfitted a Student Wellbeing and Recovery Lounge, hired 5 total Peer Recovery Coaches, put on 5 signature events, and distributed Collegiate Recovery Community Scholarships to 26 students.
All Recovery Support Group
Those in recovery, seeking recovery or impacted by someone elses' use are welcome at this student support group. People are welcome to join at any time.
Email Recovery.Community@cwu.edu for any questions about these All-Recovery Support Meetings!

CWU Substance Misuse Prevention and Education
CWU has professional staff available for private and judgement-free consultation on recovery for you, your peers, partners, or family members. Changing the norms around substance misuse and recovery is only the beginning to creating a thriving and healthy community at CWU.
Interested in knowing more about the impact of your substance use or how it compares to other CWU students? CWU students have access to a free screening that gives you customized feedback about your substance use.
If you would like to meet with a professional about your own or someone else's substance use, you can schedule a meeting by contacting the CWU Office of Health Promotion.

While these events will be advertised on social media and other forms of advertisement, the Office of Health Promotion is also home to the “Substance Free Event” sticker available for campus use to create an atmosphere of recovery friendly spaces. Below you can find downloadable versions of the image for your use.
