Farewell for Summer
Each year we look forward to the month of June when we get to welcome a new class of Wildcats into the alumni family. Congratulations to the class of 2021, we can’t wait to see the incredible things you accomplish in the world.
As we continue to grow the alumni family, we also welcome our new Director of Alumni and Constituent Relations Casey Ross to the team!
Born and raised in Kittitas County, Casey graduated from Central as a first-generation student and even donned the Wellington Wildcat mascot costume from 1995-1997. He is passionate about his admiration and gratitude for the CWU community for the transformational experiences it provides. We look forward to you meeting and connecting with him in the near future!
We hope that upcoming graduates will stay connected with the Wildcat family far beyond their time as a student, so we are offering the opportunity to join the CWU Alumni Association at a special New Grad Promo rate. This membership includes access to in-person and virtual events, networking opportunities, insurance and travel programs, and much more. You can also give the gift of an alumni association membership to the graduating Wildcats in your life today.
CWU graduates from this year as well as the classes of 2018-20 who are pursuing a career in education in Kittitas County can apply to have their student loans forgiven thanks to an anonymous donor. To apply for this award, or for more information, please visit cwu.edu/scholarships/debt-relief. We encourage you to share this information with those you believe may be eligible as it is an incredible opportunity!
While our webinars will be taking a break for the summer, we are happy to be kicking off the beginning of our Virtual Wildcat Summer Series this month! We will begin with a virtual Alumni Trivia Battle on June 16, followed by another trivia battle in July and a family bingo night in August. Registration is required to attend, so please visit our event page to sign up today.
If you enjoy golf, you can also sign up to play in the 19th annual Kitna Wildcat Classic golf tournament taking place on Thursday, July 8, at Suncadia Resort. Registration is currently open but close to being full. Visit wildcatsports.com/kitna for more information and to register. All proceeds from the tournament support CWU student-athletes.
Keep an eye on your mailboxes for the latest issue of our alumni magazine, Crimson & Black, that will be delivered this month! This issue features a special President Gaudino retirement insert and also focuses on Wildcats who are uniquely Central. Check out the magazine website at cwucrimsonandblack.com to read the newest issue and for bonus content.
If you haven’t already, be sure to like and follow us on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram where you can keep in touch with fellow alumni, be the first to know about our upcoming events, and read features about Wildcats, such as our T-Mobile Tuesday and CWU legacy family spotlights. As we have done in years past, we will be taking a break from our newsletter in July and August, but we look forward to staying connected on social media!
