Theatre Studies New Student Information


Confirmation Fee

A nonrefundable tuition deposit/confirmation fee is required to verify acceptance of the offer of admission. This payment is due by May 1 for Fall Quarter, November 1 for Winter Quarter, and January 1 for Spring Quarter, or within two weeks of the date of acceptance; whichever is later. Payment should be sent directly to Central Washington University, Cashiers Office, 400 E University Way, Ellensburg, WA 98926-7490 . These fees are subject to change when tuition rates are revised.  Complete information is included in your admission letter packet.

Catalog

Catalog changes are made for an Academic Year, starting with the Fall Quarter. Your catalog for the upcoming fall will be online June 1. Paper copies are no longer generated.  The catalog is on-line at http://catalog.acalog.cwu.edu/.

FAFSA

To be eligible to receive an assistantship you are required to file a  FAFSA application for the upcoming academic year.

Course of Study

Once you begin your coursework, you must file an official Course of Study with the Office of Graduate Studies, Research and Continuing Education before completing twenty-five (25) quarter credit hours in your master's program. Please review the Master's Degree Regulations in the catalog for the requirements. With regard to classes that were completed prior to formal admission, no more than fifteen (15) quarter credit hours, with a maximum of nine (9) quarter credit hours from accredited schools other than CWU, will be accepted. Additionally, all coursework taken prior to your quarter of formal admission and/or from another institution must be at the graduate level. Classes taken at other accredited universities after formal admission to a CWU master's degree program are included in the nine (9) credits referred to above. Consult the latest edition of the University Catalog online for details.

Housing

Central Washington University Housing Services currently maintains approximately 500 apartments (one, two or three bedrooms) in addition to the residence halls. Both single student and family housing complexes are available. For specific information regarding either residence halls or apartments, contact: Housing Services Director, Central Washington University, 400 E University Way, Ellensburg, WA 98926-7513. Off campus housing can be located in the local newspaper www.kvnews.com or through the Ellensburg Chamber of Commerce website. There you should search by category by pulling the drop down box to "apartments".

Parking

Parking passes are required on campus. And street parking adjacent to the campus is limited to after 5 pm. You can get the details about parking and parking application on the CWU parking site. If you choose to live off-campus and use the Wildcat Transit or walk to campus a permit is not required.

Ellensburg is located in the heart of the pacific Northwest and is 1.5 hours east of downtown Seattle, 4 hours northeast of Portland, Oregon, 5 hours southeast of Vancouver, British Columbia and 2.5 hours west of Spokane, Washington.

You can find shuttle services and their schedules to Ellensburg from regional and international airports on the Bellair website. You should arrange to arrive at the CWU Starbucks stop in order to be closest to the University and apartments.
