Production Format
1. Staged Readings
(1 credit if faculty led) No royalties for new work
- Rehearsal time of approximately 15 hours for standard plays and 25 hours for musicals, 29 hour maximum including performance reading
- Maximum of three public readings
- No set, prop. costume support from shops should be pulled form participants own pieces
- No formal advertising should be sponsor/creator driven
- No formal ticketing from CTE box office
- Not completely memorized, book in-hand
- No choreography, AV recording
- No formal program, could be announced as curtain speech
2. Studio Productions
(1-2 credits if faculty led) The General Production budget will cover royalties if approved. When scheduling these projects the Chair and PM will consider: shop support requested, design/production values and personnel to cover the assignments, Size of cast requested, number of performances requested, funding requested, facilities requested and equipment needs
Class Project
- Registrar scheduled as a class
- During regular class time (8am -5 pm)
- Culminating event assigned performance venue, date and time by PM
- Very limited set, prop. costume support from shops should be pulled form participants own pieces
- Light support if scheduling can be worked out and space allows for such
- End of quarter “product”
Studio Project
- PM scheduled as a production
- Evening rehearsal times (6:30-10:00 pm)
- Workshop of established script
- Coordinated with season
- Limited set, prop. costume support from shops should be pulled form participants own pieces except schedule use of “Studio Stock” flats
- Possible student design opportunities
- Lighting support as ca schedule and supported
3. Main Stage Productions
- (Faculty led 3 credits) One each quarter
- Shop supported
- Budget supported
- Marketed by director of Marketing
- Faculty/Guest Director
- Scheduled by PM
- Evening rehearsal times (6:30-10:00 pm)
