OISP monitors updates and changes to immigration regulations and policies for international students and scholars. We ask that students check back frequently for most recent updates and guidance. We will communicate significant updates and changes via email to students.


On May 3rd DHS announced an extension of the SSR benefits for Hong Kong residents who are experiencing economic hardship. Benefits are not automatic, please contact SEVIS@cwu.edu for more information.

On January 25, 2023 DHS made an announcement to re-designate and extend Special Student Relief benefits to Haitian students experiencing Severe Economic Hardship. Benefits are not automatic, please contact SEVIS@cwu.edu for more information.

On December 30, 2022 DHS made an announcement to re-designate and extend Special Student Relief benefits to Yemeni students experiencing Severe Economic Hardship. Benefits are not automatic, please contact SEVIS@cwu.edu for more information.

On December 9, 2022 DHS made an announcement to designate Special Student Relief benefits to Ethiopian Students Experiencing Severe Economic Hardship. Benefits are not automatic, please contact SEVIS@cwu.edu for more information.
