About SOURCE
About SOURCE
Our event, being a hub for multidisciplinary engagement, plays a pivotal role in student development and learning. The diverse participation from different campus units highlights the collaborative nature of our institution, fostering an environment where students can explore, innovate, and express themselves.
What is SOURCE?
SOURCE, short for Symposium of University Research and Creative Expression, provides a university-wide opportunity for Central students to present their mentored research, scholarship, and creative works. SOURCE strives to create an equitable, diverse, and inclusive environment that applauds and values demonstrations of all disciplines and experience levels. SOURCE simulates the professional environment in which you may find yourself presenting within your discipline later in your career.

SOURCE ResourcesMission & Vision
Through SOURCE, we strive to provide a university-wide forum for Central Washington University (CWU) students, encouraging equity, diversity, and inclusivity, representing all disciplines and experience levels, to present their mentored research, scholarship, and creative works in a juried environment that meets professional conference standards and expectations.
Venue Details
Affectionately known as the SURC, the Student Union and Recreation Center is the largest building on the Central Washington University campus: centrally located with easy access to parking lots and malls, primary city streets, academic buildings, and residence halls.
The SURC was conceived through vision, determination, and collaboration. Those elements were the heart and drive behind an inspiring transformation of a renovation project into the creation of CWU's unique Student Union and Recreation Center, the first fusion facility of its kind in the country at the time of its inception.
The conception of the SURC captures the heart of the collaborative, student-focused spirit we pride ourselves on at SOURCE and is the perfect venue to showcase CWU faculty, staff, and students’ accolades.
