Interdisciplinary program focused on non-human primate behavior, social structures and ecological interactions in both captive and free-ranging non-human primates.
Why study primatology at CWU?
Our students have a gone on to work in labs, zoos, captive facilities, environmental and conservation careers at various government and non-profit agencies. Alumni also continue their education by attending graduate programs in a variety of different disciplines due to the interdisciplinary nature of our unique program.
Degree Requirements
BS, Primate Behavior and Ecology
As the PBE degree is an interdisciplinary program, a double major is required for all students. The second major must be at least 45 credits in anthropology, biology, or psychology. Degree options for the second major are listed below.
Biology, BS, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Specialization
Biology, BS, General Biology Specialization
There are several courses that will count towards both degrees, and several required courses will also count towards your general education requirements. Interested students please contact program director, Dr. April Binder for more information.
