Careers and Opportunities

There are many career paths you can pursue with a degree in Dance.

  • Professional Dancer: Many graduates of dance programs pursue careers as professional dancers in companies, musical theater, or other performance venues.
  • Arts Administration: Graduates of dance programs may also find careers in arts administration, working in nonprofit organizations or arts councils to manage and promote dance events and organizations.
  • Choreographer: A degree in dance can prepare you for a career as a choreographer, creating dance pieces for performances or other events.

Our Very Own Dance Company

CWU’s Dance department sponsors the Orchesis Dance Company, which, for more than four decades, has promoted dance as a performing art and provides opportunities for students to choreograph, learn, and perform original artistic works.
