COTS Summer Undergraduate Research Experience
We are pleased to announce the return of the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program for 2025! This program offers a valuable opportunity for undergraduate students to engage in paid research projects under the guidance of a faculty mentor.
SURE projects can be conducted on a full-time or part-time basis and encompass a wide range of research areas, including laboratory-based, fieldwork, computational, and interdisciplinary studies.

Key Program Details:
- Eligibility: Open to all students majoring in programs and departments within the College of the Sciences.
- Enrollment Requirement: Applicants must be enrolled at CWU in Spring 2025 and registered for Fall 2025 courses prior to the program's commencement.
- Program Dates: All SURE-funded research must be conducted between July 1st and September 15th, 2025.
- Application Deadline: Friday, April 11th.
- Mentor Support: Applications require a letter of support from the faculty mentor. Students are strongly encouraged to contact potential mentors as soon as possible to discuss project ideas and secure their support.
