Take A Trip Around the (Plant) World

Plants within the Biology Greenhouse come from all over the world--from the southwestern desert to tropical rain forests. The facility is composed of four separate rooms.

Each Room Houses A Different Environment:

Jungle Room

The Jungle Room recreates a tropical jungle environment, with specimens planted in the ground rather than in pots. This room contains several edible plants, including Mexican breadfruit, bananas, and figs.

Research Room

The Research Room is available for faculty, staff, and students to carry out research projects.

Desert Room

The Desert Room simulates a desert environment. You will find many different species of Euphorbs, cacti, aloes and agaves in this room.
The plants living here do not need to be watered as frequently because they are adapted to arid conditions.

Tropical Room

The Tropical Room contains potted plants in a tropical environment. Many bromeliads, air plants, ferns and orchids can be found in this room.
