Learner Access and Success
Learner Access and Success Steering Committee
A key feature of CWU’s value has been our centering on student success. Regardless of their backgrounds and personal histories, students seek assistance from faculty and staff to help them succeed—from the initial stages of the recruitment and admissions process through graduation and beyond.
Co-chaired by Hung Dang, Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management, and Faiza Khoja, Dean of the College of Business, the committee will create a strategic roadmap to help CWU reach its enrollment goals and support students from admission through graduation. The plan will address key areas such as marketing, branding, student services, and academic support.
To maximize student access and success, CWU must be forward-thinking in how it will achieve its enrollment goals in the coming years. Today, institutions like ours face more challenges than ever in meeting their current and future enrollment objectives. Some of those reasons are cited below.
- Changing demographics and enrollment trends
- Gaps in access and degree completion
- Reduced state funding
- Rising costs and student loan debt
- New workforce demands and alternative education options
The committee will report jointly to the Vice President of Student Engagement and Success and the Provost/Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs. Its recommendations are expected by August 2025.
The initiative reflects CWU’s commitment to ensuring all students have the support they need to succeed.
Learner Access and Success Committee Charge
While designated individuals and campus offices are responsible for creating a success-oriented student environment, input from a cross-disciplinary team is critical for developing a comprehensive plan that moves us forward.
