Addressing and Preventing Sex Discrimination


Central Washington University (CWU) is committed to providing a learning, working, and living environment that promotes personal integrity, civility and mutual respect in an environment free of sex discrimination, including sexual misconduct.

CWU has policies, procedures, and resources in place to take immediate and appropriate steps to eliminate the sex discrimination, prevent its recurrence and to remedy the effects.

Sex Discrimination

Sex discrimination includes differential treatment and harassment on the basis of sex, including quid pro quo and hostile environment harassment, as well as sexual misconduct.

Sexual misconduct is a broad term that includes acts of sexual assault, sexual exploitation, sexual harassment, dating and domestic violence, and stalking.

The "CWU Response to Sexual Misconduct: Know Your Rights and Options" booklet provides students and employees with detailed information about resource and reporting options, as well as what to expect from the University's response to reports of sexual misconduct
