CWU Trustees to meet July 16-17 in Ellensburg

The Central Washington University Board of Trustees will hold its annual planning retreat July 16-17, 2026, in Ellensburg. The meeting is open to the public.

On Thursday, July 16, the board will begin with an executive session, as allowed under RCW 42.30.110 (1)(g), at 8:30 a.m. The executive session is expected to last approximately one hour. The regular business meeting will convene at 9:45 a.m. at the Moehring Event Center on the CWU campus. Among the first items on the agenda will be an opportunity for public comment.

Rules pertaining to the public comment period are available at cwu.edu/trustees. To participate in the public comment period, speakers must identify themselves and the topic to be addressed via email to cwu.president@cwu.edu by Monday, July 13, at 5 p.m.

At approximately noon Thursday, the board and Executive Leadership Team will break for lunch; no business will be conducted.

The board will return to Moehring Event Center at approximately 1:15 p.m. and will meet until approximately 4:15 p.m. At 4:20 p.m., board members will meet in executive session, as allowed under RCW 42.30.110 (1)(g). The executive session is expected to last approximately 55 minutes. Board members will attend a social reception at approximately 6 p.m.; no business will be conducted.

On Friday, July 17, the board will begin with an executive session, as allowed under RCW 42.30.110 (1)(g) at 8:30 a.m. The executive session is expected to last approximately one hour. The regular business meeting will convene at approximately 9:45 a.m. at Moehring Event Center and will meet until approximately 11 a.m.
