Central Washington University Art + Design student David A. Lindsay will be presenting an exhibition of his work next week in Gallery 231, and members of the CWU and Ellensburg communities are invited to attend.

Lindsay’s upcoming exhibition, “Bones and Feathers,” explores his feelings regarding mortality and its role in life and nature. His photographs and paintings subvert typical views of death and comment on what it means to be alive.

The senior Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) student uses photographic images of crows and their bones, as well as depictions of human skeletons in paint, to act as a guide to answers that we as living beings cannot be privy to.

“Personally, I see death as an intrinsic part of life.” Lindsay says. “It’s a question that can never be answered for the living. It’s frustrating and captivating and I want to know more.”

The opening reception for “Bones and Feathers” will be held Monday, December 1, from 5-7 p.m. in Gallery 231, located inside Randall Hall on the Ellensburg campus. The exhibition will close December 6.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
