Library 101C pantry

The main responsibilities include pantry maintenance and assisting shoppers with check-in/out procedures. Volunteers are encouraged to study, read, and keep themselves busy during downtime. NOTE: training is required and shifts are in one-hour increments.

Two types of volunteers

Lead: Chooses a weekly schedule to volunteer for the quarter. Provides direct support to shoppers and drop-in volunteers.

  • Great for students looking for long-term practicum/service hours and professional development right on campus!

Drop in: Sign-up for an open slot- no weekly schedule

Attend one of our quarterly training (1 hour) to learn about food safety, fostering a safe environment, and pantry protocols.

1:1 or small group training is available dependent on capacity. Email wildcatpantry@cwu.edu or jaeda.nelson@cwu.edu to schedule

Food Recovery

The food recovery program involves repackaging meals from Holmes Dining and delivering items to the Black Hall and Library pantries. Food recovery is Monday-Friday @2pm.

NOTE: food handlers are required. Contact Elizabeth.Adkins@cwu.edu to sign-up.

Wildcat Neighborhood Farm

Sign-up for Saturday work parties and special events through the SLICE.

Saturday work parties are held throughout the quarter, and signing up with the Student Leadership, Involvement, and Community Engagement office allows you to get recorded service hours that can go towards academic, athletic, or club/organization requirements.
