Housing Communication
Official Housing Communication Channel
CWU email accounts are considered the only "official" way to communicate with Housing Services. If you have questions regarding your housing assignment, billing, or other sensitive issues, please be sure to email us from your CWU email account.Housing Text Messages
When you signed your housing contract, you provided a contact phone number. This contact phone number will be used for occasional text messages to make you aware of facilities emergencies and other housing concerns. You also had the option to opt in or out of these text messages.
You may opt in or out of receiving text messages at any time. Please be aware that opting out of text messages from the University will remove you from the Housing text message notification list.
To opt in or out of Housing text messages, please follow the steps below:
- Login to MyHousing portal.
- In the left side navigation, go to Personal Information.
- Under Personal Information, provide your cell phone number and answer Yes or No to the question: “Do you wish to opt out of receiving texts from University Housing regarding your application, room status, and facility needs?”.
- Click Save.
Notice to MyHousing Portal Users
Student users of MyHousing who may receive texts may opt-in or out by using the Housing Director Self Service module (MyHousing portal), through which the student can explicitly opt in or out of receiving text messages. Because this site is not publicly accessible and the data contained therein is subject to FERPA, video of a live process is not permissible.
Below is an example of how the student consent might look, depending upon your web browser (configurable by site):
