Welcome to the Office of Field Experiences

The Office of Field Experiences secures field placements for teaching candidates in CWU's College of Education and Professional Studies. We partner with more than 130 school districts to provide valuable learning experiences for future teachers. CWU's teacher education alumni are teaching in K-12 schools throughout Washington and beyond.

Placement Application Deadlines

Please note that application deadlines are subject to change. Please check this site regularly.

Student Teaching (EFC 480)

  • Fall: Apply by January 15

  • Winter: Apply by June 1

  • Spring: Apply by October 1

Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Internships

MAT administrative staff will send the application to each candidate's CWU email account upon program acceptance.

  • Summer Cohort: March 15
  • Winter Cohort: Application deadline TBA

Field Experience (EFC 330)

  • Pre-Fall and Fall: Apply by April 1

  • Winter: Apply by October 1

  • Spring: Apply by January 1

Elementary Practicums (ELEM 494/ELEF 495)

We also place for a variety of courses required for Elementary Education majors. Click the application link below for a full list of available courses.

  • Fall: Apply by May 17

Student Teaching Webinars

Placement and certification staff will host two webinars that share details of the placement process:

  • One is a 30 minute session that guides you through the application process - The next session is Wednesday, January 11, 2023.
  • The second is a 2 hour session that prepares you for student teaching after you've applied to student teach - The next session is Friday, February 3, 2023.
