State Financial Aid Programs

Washington State offers several state-funded programs to help eligible students cover the cost of college.

Washington State Grant Programs

Washington College Grant (WCG)

The Washington College Grant provides need-based financial aid to low- and middle-income undergraduate students pursuing approved certificates, associate degrees, or bachelor's degrees. Award amounts are based on a combination of family income, school costs, and enrollment status, and do not need to be repaid. This is Washington's most flexible and accessible aid program for qualifying residents. Learn more about the WCG.

Passport to Careers

The Passport to Careers program supports foster youth and unaccompanied homeless youth by providing financial assistance and wraparound support to help them prepare for, enroll in, and successfully complete college. This scholarship helps cover tuition and other educational expenses and includes additional resources such as academic advising and career planning. Find out if you're a Passport-eligible student.

College Bound Scholarship
