Disbursement and Billing

Disbursement and Billing

Financial aid is disbursed each quarter and applied directly to your student account to pay tuition, fees, and other university charges.

Requirements for Disbursement

To receive your aid, you must:

  • Be officially enrolled in classes
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
  • Accept your aid in MyCWU
  • Complete required loan documents (if applicable)

Paying Your Bill and Managing Charges

Visit the Student Accounts Office to view your balance, set up a payment plan, or make tuition payments online or in person.

CWU finalizes your enrollment status on Census Day (5th day of the quarter) during the academic year. It’s also the last day to add/drop. For summer quarter, Census Day is the 3rd day. Your enrollment level on census determines your eligibility for financial aid disbursement.

Financial aid automatically covers tuition, fees, housing and food (if on campus). To automatically apply aid towards other charges like parking or book store charges, go to  MyCWUFinancial Toolbox → Student Permissions to give authorization.

Refunds

If your aid exceeds your university charges, the remaining balance will be refunded to you. Set up direct deposit in MyCWU for faster processing—refunds are typically issued within 3–5 business days after disbursement.
