Returning to CWU

We’re here to make your move to CWU easy and welcoming.

From the start, you’ll have support through pre-admission advising, transfer tools, and ways to connect with your future Wildcat community. Whether you took a break, explored other opportunities, or just need to finish what you started, we’re glad you’re considering coming back to CWU.

If you are a non-traditional student, find more information and support to help you on your journey.

Steps to Apply

Returning to CWU is easier than you might think. We'll guide you through the process so you can pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. To apply as a returning student, follow these steps:

Step 1: Submit a new application

Our application is completely online. You can apply through our application portal or use Common App. Already started? Pick up where you left off or check the status through your Applicant Portal.

Step 2: Submit transcripts

Submit any transcript from other institutions you may have attended since you last attended CWU. Have questions about transcripts? Learn more about official and unofficial transcripts.

Transfer Maps

Transfer MAPs (Major Academic Pathways) are planning documents that help prospective transfer students considering a specific CWU major answer the essential questions that many transfers ask:

  • What courses do I need to take prior to transferring?
  • What locations or modalities is this program available in?
  • How much will it cost?
  • How long will it take?
  • Who can I contact for further information?
