Post-Baccalaureate Admissions
Thinking About Coming Back to School?
If you’ve already earned a bachelor’s degree and you’re ready for a new chapter, you can apply to CWU as a post-baccalaureate (post-bacc) student.
That means you’ll be taking additional undergraduate-level courses, not working toward a graduate degree (like a master’s or PhD). Many post-bacc students come to CWU with goals like:
- Changing careers and moving into a new field, such as business to medicine
- Preparing for graduate school by finishing prerequisites for medical school, law school, or other advanced programs
- Strengthening academics and boosting your GPA or record for competitive applications
- Personal growth, learning new skills, or exploring a new area of study
You can pursue post-bacc pathways in areas like pre-med, pre-health, and education. You’ll also find options to complete certificate programs or earn a second bachelor’s degree. If you are a non-traditional student, find more information and support to help you on your journey.
Start Your ApplicationSteps to Apply
Step 1: Submit your application
Our application is completely online. You can apply through our application portal or use Common App. Already started? Pick up where you left off or check the status through your Applicant Portal.
Step 2: Pay the application fee
The $60 fee is non-refundable. If this creates a hardship, there are opportunties for a fee waiver in the application.
Step 3: Submit your college transcripts
To complete your admission process, submit your college transcripts. To ensure that your transcript is considered official, please have it sent directly from your institution. Learn more about official and unofficial transcripts.
Admission Requirements
To apply as a postbaccalaureate student, you must have earned a bachelor’s degree previously from a regionally accredited baccalaureate institution with a cumulative GPA of a 2.0 or higher. If you have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, you are eligible for Guaranteed Admissions. If your GPA is between 2.00-2.49, we may ask you to submit a Personal Statement along with your application.
If you are seeking a new bachelor’s degree, your previous bachelor’s degree will satisfy all of our general education requirements. You will have to complete the requirements of your major and earn a minimum of 45 CWU credits at a 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
To understand how your courses transfer, visit the Transfer Evaluation System website or connect with admissions counselor, Jan Wragge.
