Air Force ROTC
Welcome to the Air Force ROTC-Detachment 895
AFROTC prepares you to become an officer in the US Air Force.
What is the AFROTC?
The General Military Course is a two-year commitment consisting of aerospace studies and leadership classes. Upon completion, you will compete for selection into the two-year Professional Officer Course (POC) to become an officer. POC cadets receive a monthly stipend and attend a four-week summer training program called Field Training. Successful completion leads to commissioning as second lieutenants and attendance at officer training school. To be eligible, you must be a US citizen, at least 17 years old, and enrolled in an accredited college or university that offers Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC).

Highlights
Only the Best
For the third year in a row, the Air Force and Army ROTC at CWU undertook the Norwegian Foot March, a military endurance test. Our cadets marched 18.6-miles along the John Wayne Trail, carrying a rucksack of 24 lbs. Maybe next year you will join them in this mentally and physically straining feat.
Our History
The Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 895, also known as the Cascade Cowboys at CWU was established in June 1951. To learn more, check out our CWU Air Force History.
