OUR/foundry10 Presentation, Performance, & Exhibition


The aim of this fund is to support students’ research and creative expression who are interested in presenting their work at conferences, exhibitions, performance venues, and other academic and professional venues. Students who are preparing to present their research and/or projects should include the details of the organization that they are presenting at as well as details of their research project and creative expression.

Presentation, Performance, & Exhibition Application

foundry10 is an education research organization with a philanthropic focus on expanding ideas about learning and creating direct value for youth. In collaboration with diverse partners, we surface, evaluate, and share opportunities to better support youth learning both inside and outside the classroom. We do this through applied and experimental research, as well as collaborative philanthropy and educational programming rooted in evidence-based best practices.

Eligibility: 

  • Undergraduate level students with a CWU-affiliated faculty or staff mentor. 
  • The student(s) must be the lead author(s) of the work and be the main presenter.
  • Students may still apply for these funds if the conference has already taken place.
    • The event must have taken place during the academic year (Fall–Spring) that the funds are applied for.
  • Undergraduate students can apply for both foundry10 Presentation, Performance, and Exhibition and the OUR Presentation, Performance, and Exhibition Awards. However, applications of students who receive the foundry10 funds will be automatically dropped from the equivalent OUR application pool. If you do not receive foundry10 funds, your application will be reviewed again for OUR funding.

Amount: 

  • foundry10 Presentation, Performance, and Exhibition Funding Award:
    • Up to $1,000 
  • OUR Presentation, Performance, and Exhibition Funding Award: 
    • Up to $750 for individual students
    • Up to $1,500 for groups of two or more students

Eligible Expenses Include (but are not limited to): 

  • Registration
  • Presentation/performance application fee
  • Travel 

Application Materials: 

  1. Funding Proposal – Up to 4 pages (excluding attachments)
    • Project title page
    • Abstract or creative artistic statement (250 words max)
    • Project description
    • Professional development statement (groups collaborate on one statement)
  2. Detailed line-item budget with Budget justification. You must use our budget template for your application. You can also view examples of budget and budget justifications under our General Application Guidelines. 
  3. Mentor letter of support 
  4. Approval from the Human Subjects Review Council (HSRC), Institutional Animal Care of Use Committee (IACUC), or a completed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for hazardous materials if applicable.
    • You can apply for funding even if you are still in the process of HSRC or IACUC approval. However, you MUST have appropriate approvals and certifications BEFORE you interact with humans or animals.
