Student Internships

Internships are available for students in the Museum Studies program at CWU.

Collections Management

Collections internships engage students in the day to day work of collections management. Students learn the basics of working with collections, from establishing documentation, working with museum databases, and designing and building custom storage mounts for museum objects. Interested students should contact the Collections Manager and consult with their Museum Studies advisor.

Programming

Programming internships engage students in the process of developing museum exhibits and events. Students may take the lead in curating an exhibit, bringing a speaker to campus, or building a student centered event, among many possibilities. A programming internship familiarizes a student with the complexities of organizing programming in a museum setting. Interested students should contact the Museum Director and consult with their Museum Studies advisor.

Education

Education internships engage students in the process of developing educational materials that fulfill a curricular need. Students assist with and often lead activities with K-12 groups visiting campus. Interested students should contact the Museum Director and consult with the Museum Studies advisor.
