Study Abroad

The History Department values study-abroad experiences and urges its majors to look into the possibility of studying abroad

Most study abroad programs are administered through the Office of International Studies and Programs on campus. Please consider attending an information session or scheduling a one-on-one exploratory appointment with OISP.

Study Abroad Spotlight:

In 2016, History undergraduate Sam Young went to Istanbul to study at Bogazici University. While there, he studied the Turkish language and took history courses on the Byzantine Empire, the Balkans, and Modern Turkey that are not available at CWU. He also had the opportunity to travel around the eastern Mediterranean to historical sites associated with the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman Empires, as well as to see some of the sights of modern Turkey. For more information on Sam's trip, check out his blog.
