Program Details for 2026 - 2027 Paramedic Class:
- Application Period: February 15 - April 15th, 2026. View the Paramedic Application.
- Requirements: Submit a complete application packet, including transcripts, EMT certification, and other relevant documents. Applicants must have one year of EMT experience to be eligible for the paramedic program.
- Pay the $75 application fee - View the application fee
- Experience Requirement: All paramedic applicants must have one year of documented EMT experience at time of application. This can be achieved through volunteer, full-time, part-time, firefighter or private ambulance-based EMT experience.
- Selection Criteria: Top 24 candidates based on BLS written exam and EMT psychomotor assessment scores on April 24th.
- Commitment: This is a 12 month program, with the first quarter being all online during summer 2026. Classes begin on campus two days a week in September 2026, with an anticipated completion date of June 2027. The program demands significant time and effort, with rigorous academic and practical training.

Paramedic Program Workshop - April 17th, 9am to 4pm!
We're excited to announce a new opportunity for prospective paramedic candidates: our first-ever Paramedic Program Workshop! This workshop is designed to help you feel more confident and prepared as you begin the application and testing process. Here's what to expect:
- Morning Session: Focused preparation for the written EMT entrance exam, including a review of key content areas such as Anatomy/Physiology and OB/GYN.
- Afternoon Session: A mini psychomotor exam led by program instructors, offering hands-on practice and insight into the testing format.
To register for the Paramedic Program Workshop, you must have already submitted your application to the paramedic program and have proof of your application fee payment. Once completed, please email Natalie Baldwin at Natalie.Baldwin@cwu.edu with your full name and personal email address to confirm your attendance to the workshop.

This is a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and Committee on Accreditation for Emergency Medical Services Program Accredited Paramedic program that follows the National EMS Education Standards for Paramedics. The course includes approximately 1,500 - 2,000 hours of academic, hospital and field internship experience. During your paramedic education, you will become certified in (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Prehospital Emergency Airway Course (PEAC). Upon successful completion of your paramedic training, you will be eligible to take the National Registry of EMT's Paramedic Exam.
